Description
Innovation and Creativity Centre split over three levels, including a sunken gallery, innovation studios, create/make/test laboratories, 360-degree projection space, recording studio and other spaces. The project provides a range of flexible spaces which are able to respond to the rapidly changing arts education environments.

A design which achieves a high-quality acoustic environment within learning spaces while providing flexibility for a wide range of uses.
Resonate’s involvement
Review of room acoustic concept designs and advice on surface treatments to reduce reverberation times. Separating wall, glazing and door constructions to provide required level of privacy. Review of proposed mechanical services noise at concept design and construction phases to comply with Department for Education and Child Development (DECD) guidelines.

Outcome
A high-quality design working with the architect, Detail Studio. A wide variety of creative acoustic surface treatments including perforated and feature panels were used to meet both reverberation and architectural requirements.
