Auralisations
Limitations of auralisation
- Fidelity of the playback system: Auralisations are only as good as the playback system used to reproduce them. The quality and accuracy of the playback system can significantly affect the perceived realism of the auralisation. Auralisations through loudspeakers will also affect the accuracy of the simulation due to room effects of the listening environment. Headphones could be used to minimise the room effects and provide a more accurate outcome, but also have their own inherent limitations and can introduce inaccuracies in perception.
- Interpretation: Auralisations are a tool that can aid in understanding the acoustic properties of a space, but they should not be the only basis for decision-making. Auralisations used to compare various partition ratings only provide a comparative reduction in sound levels and are not intended to simulate the actual noise level transmitted via a partition.
Please use these auralisation files for comparative purposes only, to inform your understanding.
