Deb James has over 15 years of experience as an acoustic consultant. She brings niche expertise in the legalities and practicalities of architectural acoustics and specialist spaces, including radio, television and film studios, and environmental acoustics. Deb excels at communication, relating to and working through acoustic requirements of a project from the initial concept and development application phases through to practical completion. She is equally highly regarded in the area of impact assessments and development applications, with her skills being called upon across a wide range of projects, such as the development of government planning policy and training.

As Director of Innovation, Deb provides governance and leadership through her board role and champions innovation projects across Resonate Consultants nationally.

Deb’s outstanding contributions to the industry were recognised with the 2022 Women In Innovation SA Award in the engineering category for leading the development and commercialisation of efficiency tools such as SoundSurfer.
