Project Description

The Bowden precinct has transformed a former industrial site into a mixed-use development; including residential, retail and community spaces.

Client Needs

The client needed to ensure all standards were met for compliance and that the final build had good acoustic properties to enhance attractiveness to potential buyers.

Resonate's involvement

Resonate were involved in this project from the planning stage though to design and construction. The Bowden site is located in an area that triggers Minister’s Specification SA 78B, which requires acoustic design of the buildings’ facades to control traffic and mixed-use noise source intrusion. Most of the buildings were designed to a Green Star rating, which is over and above the standard rating. All required compliance with Part F5 of the Building Code of Australia. Resonate provided acoustic design of the façade and internals to provide amenity to the occupants.

Residents have been provided good acoustic amenity in consideration of the existing high noise environment and density of the development.
